This book takes quite a fresh approach to investing and provides a stark reminder of the many traps investors can fall into. I've been investing for a few years now but this book has prompted me to change my investment style. I had never thought of valuing shares as if I were intending to buy the whole company and this book tells you how to do it, and with a lot of common sense advice. It does not get you bogged down with in-depth analysis of accounts and cashflow, etc, but you may need to read it a few times if you are a complete novice. I think some investors may kick themselves when they read this book. It is the first I have read that systematically tells you how to score the major aspects of a company, highlight the weaknesses and come up with a score and a 12 month target price. I've started using the score sheet to evaluate the shares I already hold. Time will tell how successful it is for me. If you are intent on short term trading then you might want to read this book first to learn of the harsh reality of day trading. Otherwise, it is geared towards long term investing only.Product details
